Preparing For Brexit - with Palletways

As part of the UK's number one pallet network Palletways, Ferryspeed is doing everything possible to support you and your customers during the Brexit transition. Whatever type of Brexit deal we get with the EU, all parties will need to prepare to ensure that imports and exports to and from the EU remain compliant.

Ferryspeed have curated several downloadable documents to guide you through the current Brexit process, including updates to some of our service guides. If you have any further queries or concerns about how Brexit will affect your business, contact our friendly team today.

Keeping You Connected

From 1st January 2021, things will change for goods that you move been the European Union and the UK. Additional information will be required for goods, and every item will need to be declared accurately.  Failure to provide this information could result in shipping delays, and fines at border control.

To minimise delays, Palletways will perform a number of checks to ensure that you have provided the relevant information before the pallets leave your facility, but it is still vital that you are familiar with the new processes and requirements. Below is an updated Customer Information Pack to guide you through the current Brexit process, and to provide information about what will be required from the importer or exporter from 1st January 2021.

Letter of Representation

In order for Palletways to import and export goods between the UK and the EU on your behalf, you must complete a Letter of Representation. This letter authorises Palletways to handle Brexit customs and import/export on your behalf.

International Service Guide

From 1st January 2021, the process of European import/export will change for Brexit. To ensure that your European imports and exports, Amazon deliveries, and alcohol and limited quantity freight remains compliant, download our updated International Services guide.

EU Portal Entry Guide

The process of entering shipments onto the Palletways Portal will change slightly from 1st January 2021. Some portal changes have already been made for testing purposes, and the below guide will help you to familiarise yourself with these changes in readiness for the new year.
